Ghyabi
Lassiter & Associates (GLA) was engaged by Reynolds Smith
& Hills (RS&H)
to conduct a roundabout analysis for both the Arlington Road/University
Boulevard
intersection and the Arlington Road/Rogero Road/King Arthur Road
intersection in
Jacksonville, Florida. Since the Arlington Road/Rogero Road/King Arthur
Road intersection is located only 165 feet north of the Arlington
Road/Lone Star Road/Groveland Drive intersection, the Jacksonville
Transit Authority (JTA) and GLA personnel decided to combine these two
intersections into a single roundabout. Therefore, a roundabout
analysis was also conducted
for the six-legged Arlington Road/Rogero Road/King Arthur Road/Lone
Star Road
Groveland Drive intersection. The purpose of the study was to identify
the appropriate size roundabout that will result in the intersection
operating at Level of Service "E" or better and meet FDOT standard
design guidelines as contained in FDOT's "Florida Roundabout Guide"
dated March 1996. The study is based on 2001 traffic conditions..
